Goolwa has a population of approximately 4,000 and is located approximately 83 km south of Adelaide, just an hours drive.

Historic Goolwa is located at the mouth of the Murray River and derives its name from an aboriginal word meaning ELBOW.

Goolwa is one of the fastest developing towns in South Australia and has enjoyed a steady increase in land and houses prices over the past 10 years and there’s no surprise why.

Goolwa hosts a variety of events during the year, including the Largest Freshwater Boat Race, “Goolwa to Milang”, Tour Down Under, Classic Rally Adelaide, Wooden Boat Festival, Air Shows, Golf Tournaments and Goolwa Alive just to mention a few…

During the school holidays, hop aboard the Cockle Train, a historic steam engine that runs from Goolwa to Victor Harbor offering spectacular views of the Southern Ocean.

If fishing is your thing, there’s Mulloway to be had at the Murray Mouth, or enjoy the surf fishing at beautiful Goolwa Beach!

Prefer a quieter pace, visit one the Art Museums, sip some wine or dine out at one of the many fabulous waterfront Cafe’s while watching the yachts go by. What about a walk around the Goolwa Markets set on the wharf and held every 2nd Sunday?

Goolwa is a popular, fast growing tourist resort that offers a quiet relaxing atmosphere all year round, rich in history and recreation!

SHOPPING: Goolwa has 2 Large grocery retailers being open for your convenience 7 days a week. There are also many smaller retail stores including, deli’s, hardware, gifts, jewellery, clothes etc. catering for your every need.

EDUCATION: There are 2 schools in Goolwa. Goolwa Primary School for children from Reception to year 7 and Investigator College for Reception to Year 12. Goolwa also has a Kindy / Childcare centre located along side Goolwa Primary. Also available is a Tafe College, located just 20 minutes away at Victor Harbor.

HEALTH: Goolwa medical Centre located in Cadell Street, Goolwa has a number of Doctors for general consultations and various visiting Specialists.
